What are crickets?

Crickets are insects known for their distinctive chirping sounds, produced by rubbing their wings or legs together in a behavior known as stridulation. Crickets are found worldwide, and there are thousands of species, with variations in size, color, and habitat. Many cricket species are nocturnal, becoming more active during the night. They hide in dark and moist places during the day and emerge to forage and mate at night. 

What are grasshoppers?

Grasshoppers are known for their powerful hind legs adapted for jumping and their ability to produce a rhythmic sound by stridulation (rubbing body parts together). Grasshoppers play essential roles in ecosystems as herbivores, feeding on plants, and serving as a food source for various predators.
